The Monastery of the Angels of Los Angeles, CA belongs to the Order of Preachers founded by St. Dominic de Guzman at Prouille, France in 1206. Our holy father St. Dominic established the Dominican contemplative nuns as an essential part of the Order when he gathered a group of convert women to the “Truth” of the Catholic Faith.  These were women who surrendered their lives to God and assisted our holy father Dominic with "holy preaching" by their lives of prayer and penance.
